VPK

The VPK Program is paid for by the state of Florida (FREE) and includes 540 instructional hours within the school year. This equates to 3hrs per day for during the school year.

 

  • Eligibility: The VPK program is available to all Florida residents with children who turn 4 years old by September 1 of the current school year.
  • Curriculum: VPK curriculum focuses on early literacy, language, mathematics, and social skills. The goal is to foster a love for learning and ensure that children acquire the necessary skills to succeed in kindergarten.
  • Duration: The program provides 540 hours of instructional activities during the school year, typically divided into two semesters. These hours are designed to prepare children for success in kindergarten
  • Transition to Kindergarten: VPK programs aim to ease the transition to kindergarten by ensuring that children are well-prepared academically, socially, and emotionally.

VPK Wrap Around

Our VPK Wraparound Program is tailored to meet the needs of families requiring extended childcare services beyond the standard VPK hours (540 Per Year). We recognize that parents have work and other commitments, and our program is designed to seamlessly complement the VPK curriculum.

 

VPK Wraparound Includes:

  • Extended Care Hours: We offer childcare services beyond the regular VPK hours, providing flexibility for working parents
  • Enrichment Activities: In addition to the VPK curriculum, our program includes enriching activities to further enhance your child’s learning experience
  • Qualified and Caring Staff: Our team consists of dedicated professionals who prioritize your child’s well-being and educational development.
  • Food Program: 2 nutritious meals a day plus snacks from our in-house cook.

At First Friends Preschool, the safety of our students, parents, and staff is our top priority. In the event of inclement weather or unexpected closures, we closely follow the guidance of the local school board. If the school board makes the decision to close public schools due to weather conditions or other emergencies, we will also implement a closure for the safety of everyone involved.
